HUMANiTree
Urban Circle invited me to assist with the HUMANiTREE film production. My role was to contribute by creating visual, illustrative maps for the film and leading a storyboard workshop for HUMANiTREE Media School. The documentary itself delves into the evidence of human origins in Africa and the subsequent dispersion of black people across the globe. Throughout this collaboration, I immersed myself in an incredible research project, learning from exclusive interviews with experts from various scientific disciplines, including genetics, environment, anthropology, history, and sociology. Witnessing the film’s success was immensely fulfilling and reaffirmed my belief in the profound impact of storytelling to engage and educate audiences on themes of social justice and globalization.
HUMANiTree
Gwahoddodd Urban Circle fi i gynorthwyo gyda chynhyrchiad y ffilm HUMANiTREE. Fy rôl i oedd cyfrannu drwy greu mapiau gweledol, darluniadol ar gyfer y ffilm ac arwain gweithdy bwrdd stori ar gyfer Ysgol Cyfryngau HUMANiTREE. Mae’r rhaglen ddogfen ei hun yn ymchwilio i’r dystiolaeth ar gyfer y ddamcaniaeth bod gwreiddiau dynoliaeth yn Affrica ac yn sgil hynny bod pobl ddu wedi gwasgaru ar hyd a lled y byd. Trwy gydol y cydweithrediad hwn, ymdrochais mewn prosiect ymchwil anhygoel, gan ddysgu o gyfweliadau unigryw gydag arbenigwyr o ddisgyblaethau gwyddonol amrywiol, yn cynnwys geneteg, yr amgylchedd, anthropoleg, hanes a chymdeithaseg. Cefais foddhad gwirioneddol o weld llwyddiant y ffilm, a chadarnhaodd y profiad fy nghred y gall adrodd straeon gael effaith ddofn wrth ymgysylltu ac addysgu cynulleidfaoedd ar themâu cyfiawnder cymdeithasol a globaleiddio.
Hunky Dory Film Production
In 2011, I contributed to the graphic department for the film production ‘Hunky Dory,’ a British independent musical directed by Marc Evans. Working closely with production designer Jaqueline Abrahams, I played a key role in creating mural drawings for the abandoned caravan scene. This experience was particularly memorable as it was my first mural creation, collaborating alongside another talented artist and learning new techniques in large-scale artwork. The project pushed my creative boundaries, as I had to balance artistic expression with the film’s visual narrative. I gained valuable insights into the collaborative nature of film production, where every creative element must fit the story and the director’s vision. This hands-on experience also deepened my understanding of set design and the meticulous attention to detail required to evoke the right atmosphere on screen. It was a moment that fueled my passion for visual storytelling.
Cynhyrchiad Ffilm Hunky Dory
Yn 2011, cyfrannais at yr adran graffeg ar gyfer y cynhyrchiad o’r ffilm ‘Hunky Dory,’ sioe gerdd annibynnol Brydeinig wedi’i chyfarwyddo gan Marc Evans. Gan weithio’n agos gyda’r dylunydd cynhyrchu Jaqueline Abrahams, chwaraeais ran allweddol yn creu darluniau murlun ar gyfer sîn y carafannau segur. Roedd y profiad hwn yn arbennig o gofiadwy gan mai dyma fy nghreadigaeth gyntaf o furlun, yn gweithio ochr yn ochr ag artist dawnus arall ac yn dysgu technegau newydd mewn gwaith celf ar raddfa fawr. Gwthiodd y prosiect fy ffiniau creadigol, gan fod yn rhaid i mi gydbwyso mynegiant artistig â naratif gweledol y ffilm. Cefais gipolwg werthfawr ar natur gydweithredol cynhyrchu ffilmiau, ble mae’n rhaid i bob elfen greadigol gyd-fynd â’r stori a gweledigaeth y cyfarwyddwr. Yn ogystal, fe wnaeth y profiad ymarferol hwn ddyfnhau fy nealltwriaeth o ddylunio set a’r sylw gofalus iawn i fanylion y mae ei angen er mwyn ennyn yr awyrgylch cywir ar y sgrin. Roedd yn foment a daniodd fy angerdd am adrodd straeon yn weledol.
